What have I been changing with my workflow?
This is something that I don't typically do, but I think is important. Write about myself! This is a very busy time of year for me and my family. End of school, a little girl that's into flag football and drawing, and a boy that's starting all-stars baseball which is more effort on everyone's part! Get your kids into soccer or basketball early if at all possible.... just kidding, I love baseball :)
My favorite new tool that I have discovered is the next gen puqpress. This new gen 6 unit takes the guess work out of whether the tamp or the grind is the issue. Reducing the puck's variables to one, especially when you grab a new bag of beans to try reduces waste and gets you feeling like you really understand the process better. I'm generally a hand tamper myself because I've been doing it awhile now but when I got the chance to try a puq I realized what I had been missing.
This is a short one, but next time I'm going to go into my favorite new equipment. The NECCT hand grinder and the handheld tamper by Cera! A real heavy duty manual grinder that feels anything but manual with the momentum built up with the heavy duty steal wheel. It's very cool. I plan to release the unboxing video shortly.
I hope you have a great summer and you continue to successfully progress on your Espresso Journey!
