The Moccamaster KBGV paired with the Fellow Opus 2 creates the definitive filter coffee system because the Opus 2's conical burr geometry produces the uniform particle distribution (240-850 micron range) that the KBGV's precise 196-205°F brew temperature demands for optimal extraction. While the Moccamaster's SCAA Golden Cup certification ensures proper contact time and water distribution, the Opus 2's 41 grind settings let you dial in the exact coarseness needed for the KBGV's flat-bottom brew basket, eliminating both under-extraction and channeling that plague pre-ground coffee. This pairing delivers repeatable, café-quality filter coffee while the Fellow's anti-static technology means zero retention and no stale grounds compromising your Moccamaster's clean flavor profiles. At $540.50, you save $28.45 while future-proofing your setup with a grinder versatile enough to handle everything from pour-over to French press as your coffee journey evolves.
What's Included
- Moccamaster KBGV
- FELLOW Opus 2 Conical Burr - Black
Why This Pair Works
- Matched Precision Across Brew Chain — The Moccamaster's SCA Golden Cup certification demands grind consistency that the Opus 2's 6-blade burr set and anti-static technology deliver perfectly. Both components are engineered to tight tolerances, ensuring the grind distribution matches the KBGV's optimal 4-6 minute brew window for proper extraction.
- Dual-Batch Flexibility Without Grind Compromise — The KBGV's half/full carafe selector pairs ideally with the Opus 2's 110g hopper capacity and precise dosing control. Whether brewing 5 cups or 10, you can grind exactly what you need at the optimal coarseness, eliminating stale pre-ground coffee and maintaining freshness across different batch sizes.
- Minimalist Aesthetic Meets Counter Efficiency — Both pieces share a compact, design-forward footprint that maximizes limited counter space in premium kitchens. The Opus 2's anti-static grinding complements the Moccamaster's clean brewing process, creating a low-mess workflow where precision doesn't sacrifice visual harmony or operational efficiency.
- Temperature Stability Requires Grind Stability — The Moccamaster's copper heating element maintains 196-205°F brewing temperature, but thermal consistency means nothing without particle uniformity. The Opus 2's high-torque motor and conical burrs produce minimal fines and consistent particle size, allowing the KBGV's precise temperature control to extract balanced flavor from every ground.
